Finally you can do things you thought were still impossible to do with FileMaker Pro. Now you can create powerful databases by using this plug-in! NOTE version 2.8.2 uses the 'classic' plug-in API which is using the External( "functionName" , "parameter") format. This means that higher ASCIIs are converted to spaces. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONSINSTALLING A (TROI) PLUG-IN FOR THE FIRST TIME.
You may want to install other plug-ins before proceeding.
Then (re)start FileMaker Pro. The Troi File Plug-in will
display a dialog box, indicating that it is loading and
showing the registration status. You can now open the file
"All File Examples.fp5" to see how to use the plug-in's
functions. What Troi File Plug-in can do for youThe File Manipulation functions make it possible to save
the contents of a (text)field or global to a file. You may
calculate a path name or let the user indicate a location on
your disks through a Save as dialog box. The reverse is also
possible: have the user select a file and read it into a
field. Additional functions let you query detailed
information of a file: the size on disk, creation and
modification dates etc. Other manipulations include
creation, deletion, copying and moving of files, and the
creation of folders. Who wrote it?Troi File Plug-in was designed and implemented by Peter Baanen of Troi Automatisering. can not run on Mac 68k machines. System requirements WindowsHardware: Intel-compatible computer 486/33 or later FileMaker requirementsFileMaker Pro 6, FileMaker Pro 5.x or higher or FileMaker Developer 6 or 5.x or higher. NOTE This plug-in should also run without problems on any machine that is able to run FileMaker Pro 4.0, FileMaker Pro 4.1 and runtimes from FileMaker Developer Edition 4.0 and machines running Mac OS 8.x, 9.0 and Mac OS 10.0.X. However, we have not tested this, and we don't provide support for this. Some functions are not available for each platform or FileMaker version. See the functions' documentation for details. Troi File Plug-in is a commercial productYou can try-before-you-buy. This means that you are free and invited to test the plug-in 30 days before you pay. You may also make copies of the original and complete package (including this Read Me file) and distribute it to customers, friends etc. However, you may not distribute a modified or licensed version. Use Troi File Plug-in at your own riskAlthough Troi File Plug-in was tested carefully, we can not be responsible for any damages resulting from using this software. Also please try it out on a test database. Your system may be using an extension (unknown to us) that interferes with the proper functioning of Troi File Plug-in. We like to hear feedback on the benefits and shortcomings of the plug-in. Please include the platform and operating system in your suggestions and comments. What are the costs?You will receive a registration for Troi File Plug-in 3.0 (for FileMaker 7). Troi File Plug-in 2.8 (for FileMaker 6) registers with this registration too. Upgrades from previous versionsYou need to use a new 3.0 version of the registration. If you bought a license on or after June 28th, 2003 the upgrade is FREE! Note: the 3.0 version needs a new registration string. We will email all eligible customers a new registration string. Contact us if you have not received yours after July 5th 2004. If you bought a license for version 2.6.1 or earlier before June 28th, 2003 you will need to upgrade to use the 3.0 version.
All Troi Plug-ins are available for Macintosh and Windows. When ordering please indicate for which platform you are ordering. How to pay?Paying for a license is easy. We have several ways to pay. You can pay online via credit card or via Kagi, who also accept checks and cash monies. Protection and unlocking the applicationTroi File Plug-in has a protection scheme. After you pay Troi Automatisering will tell you how to indicate to Troi File Plug-in that you have paid the license fee.
